We are proud to announce that Susan Estes has joined AkinovA’s Advisory Board. With 30+ years of experience on Wall Street, Susan is the founder, President & CEO of the OpenDoor bond trading platform. Her knowledge of the global fixed income markets and the evolving FinTech landscape has been vital in helping her successfully address long-overlooked pain points in the bond market. Susan was the first woman to run a Primary Dealer as Managing Director and Global Head of Treasury Trading at Morgan Stanley and when she launched OpenDoor in 2015, it became the first woman-owned and operated bond trading platform in the world. Throughout her career, Susan has been a driving force for growth and innovation in the financial markets.
Susan has served on the prestigious Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC), under both Secretary’s Paulson and Snow. Separately working with the Committee to address topical market issues with the Chair and Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, under both Chairman Greenspan and Chairman Bernanke. Susan also served as a Member of the Board of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and as Chair the Government and Agency Division of the Bond Market Association (now SIFMA).
Susan’s primary focus will be to assist in the growth and development of the AkinovA marketplace utilising her in-depth knowledge of securities and global regulatory environments, as well as identifying and addressing marketplace pain points and driving liquidity.
Susan will add to the already strong US based AkinovA Advisory Board membership. She joins fellow Board advisors, Charles Bralver and Erik Jansen who are based near New York.
Charles has a wealth of experience in advising investment banks, asset managers, exchanges and other market utilities. As a founding Partner and former Vice Chairman of consulting firm Oliver, Wyman & Co, Charles' focus is on the development of the AkinovA Marketplace as well as growing AkinovA’s connectivity across the financial services and re/insurance industries.
Erik has a wealth of experience investing in and building technology companies and electronic marketplaces. As a Co-founder of the VC arm of Pequot Capital (USD 16bn AUM focused on public and private technology companies), Erik’s focus is on the development of the AkinovA marketplace, capitalisation approaches as well as advising on how best to grow and evolve the marketplace.
