We are proud to announce that Daljitt Barn has joined AkinovA’s Advisory Board. Daljitt is the Global Head of Cyber Risk for Tokio Marine Group. He is an industry leader in cyber insurance and cyber risk, combining insurance value-chain expertise with a cyber security technology background. At Tokio Marine, Daljitt is responsible for cyber risk quantification and control, as well as innovation and partnership opportunities. Prior to Tokio Marine, he was Munich Re’s Head of Cyber and was instrumental in setting up their cyber team within corporate underwriting, creating a Munich Re-wide cyber community and developing the group-wide cyber insurance strategy. Before Munich Re, Daljitt was a director at PwC where he built and managed the cyber risk team in the insurance and investment management sectors.
Daljitt’s primary focus will be to assist AkinovA in developing its marketplace as the leading platform to transfer and trade cyber risks. Drawing on his in-depth knowledge of the evolving and dynamic cyber risk market, Daljitt will help AkinovA drive growth and innovation in the cyber insurance market so we can better serve the needs of the global risk market.
Daljitt is an Advisory Board member at SOSA for the Global Cyber Center, New York City, and a former Chairman of the Cyber Risk & Insurance Forum (CRIF). He is a frequent speaker at insurance and investor events such as Advisen, OECD and Geneva Association, as well as being connected to the cyber ecosystems within the UK, Israel, New York and Silicon Valley.
To preserve AkinovA’s independence, which is needed to maximise marketplace participation, AkinovA’s Advisory Board will continue to evolve with a clear separation between the Advisory Board members and the marketplace's business operations. Over time, this will allow a range of active market participants to guide AkinovA on how to best serve the industry whilst maintaining a separation between industry expertise and the marketplace’s own business operations.
Daljitt joins the Advisory Board alongside re/insurance and capital market industry luminaries Paul Jardine (former XL Catlin’s Chief Experience Officer), Jonny Creagh-Coen (Fidelis’s head of strategic relations), Thomas C Heise (ILS fund manager), Charles N. Bralver (Co-founder of consulting firm Oliver Wyman), Pierre Francotte (former CEO of securities clearing house Euroclear), Susan Estes (founder, President & CEO of OpenDoor bond trading platform) and Erik Jansen (Co-founder of Pequot Ventures).
